Providence Technologies was founded in 1994 by James C. (Jim) Manatt, Jr. and partners.  The company is a privately owned New Mexico Incorporation, New Mexico’s only full service 3D seismic company.  Providence operates primarily in the United States and Canada, with projects in the Republic of Yemen, Italy, Poland and India.  Manatt, an industry trained geophysicist, has been a professional  member of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists since 1980, he belongs to the Canadian, Permian Basin, Denver and Houston societies and is an associate member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and past president of the Roswell Geological Society.  He is the co-inventor and owner of US Patent 8,077,547, a patent for geophysical methods, Directed Beam Seismic©.  Manatt is a Distinguished Military Graduate, New Mexico State University, Bachelor of Arts, a Distinguished Alumnus, Arts & Sciences and Paul Harris Fellow, Rotary International.  Manatt served as Regent, New Mexico State University for 6 years, including 2 years as Chairman of the Board with fiduciary responsibility for some 3,000 employees including 800 PhD’s, a $500 million annual operating budget with multi-billion dollar assets.  He is a Founding Director of Spaceport America in New Mexico.  Providence is a prime contractor for geophysical data acquisition design, field operations, data processing, interpretation and mapping, both on an exclusive basis for clients and a non-exclusive basis for the company.
